Having drawn your attention to the false state- ments of your correspondent concerning the profits of my business and having fully and frankly explained my nationality, I hope you will understand that my cigar business is a Belgian one and that no Englishman need fear, in buying my cigars, to do the slightest wrong to his country nor to contribute to the German war chest, but that by patronising my factory he will favor a firm in Belgium, an allied country, which has suffered and is still suffering enormously by the
present horrible war.
